Dr. Russ O'Neal

Born in Macon, Georgia, Dr. Russ O’Neal grew up in Roberta and attended Stratford Academy, graduating in 1994. His interest in medicine started during his high school years, and he spent time each summer shadowing local physicians. After graduating from Stratford, Dr. O’Neal headed to Athens, where he attended the University of Georgia, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1998. He began medical school at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon the following year. Following his graduation from medical school, Dr. O’Neal completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University in 2005. He then returned to Macon, where he has been in private practice since July, 2005.
 
Dr. O’Neal practices all aspects of outpatient internal medicine, including annual wellness exams, management of chronic medical conditions, as well as treatment of acute illness. As an internist, he sees patients ranging in age from 16 to 104.
 
Dr. O’Neal is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, the Bibb County Medical Society, the American Medical Association and serves on the Board of Directors for Georgia Physicians for Accountable Care. He has admitting privileges at both Atrium Navicent Health and Piedmont Macon.
 
Outside of work, Dr. O’Neal enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, fishing and attending UGA football games (GO DAWGS!). He is a member of the Historic Macon Foundation, the Vineville Neighborhood Association and Vineville United Methodist Church.
